Finding Calm 'Anxiety'
Finding Calm 'Anxiety'
Anxiety is a common mental health condition that involves feelings of worry, nervousness, or fear that can be mild or intense. Clinically, anxiety is the body’s natural response to perceived danger or stress. It activates the "fight or flight" system, which can lead to symptoms like a racing heart, rapid breathing, muscle tension, and trouble concentrating. While some anxiety is normal and even helpful in certain situations, ongoing or excessive anxiety can interfere with daily life. Common types include generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety. Effective treatments often include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), relaxation techniques, and in some cases, medication. Early support can make a big difference in managing symptoms and improving quality of life.
