Collection: Motivational interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a person-centred, compassionate approach that helps people explore and resolve ambivalence about change. It’s not about telling someone what to do—it’s about drawing out their own reasons for wanting to change, in a way that respects their autonomy and values. Through open-ended questions, reflective listening, empathy, and affirmations, the practitioner becomes a collaborative partner rather than an authority figure. MI empowers individuals to find their own motivation, builds confidence, and strengthens commitment by gently guiding them toward their goals. It’s especially powerful in mental health, addiction, health behavior change, and other areas where people may feel stuck or uncertain. At its heart, MI believes in people’s ability to grow—and walks beside them as they do.
